OVERVEIW: This workshop will focus on facilitating the understanding of the technical components of ECG, the roles and responsibilities of the technician and how it relates to patient care. In the course-work, you would learn to generate an electrocardiogram from knowledge obtained by learning the anatomy and physiology of the human heart, as well as knowledge and skills needed to operate an electrocardiogram machine for diagnosing diseases of heart.An ECG – Electrocardiography is used to measure the rate and regularity of heartbeats, as well as the size and position of the chambers, the presence of any damage to the heart, and the effects of drugs or devices used to regulate the heart, such as a pacemaker. This workshop is to understand the technical components of Electrocardiography, the roles and responsibilities of the technician and how it relates to patient care. This workshop is intended for healthcare professionals who are performing electrocardiograms or have performed electrocardiograms in the past. Students will learn techniques necessary to perform 12-lead electrocardiography. Working in a clinical setting, students will have the opportunity to produce 12-lead electrocardiograms.
PRE-REQUISITES: Basic English Proficiency: Students should be healthcare professionals, medical researchers, or employees of healthcare insurance companies.
